Sara Vezza has acquired cellar and vineyards from her mother Josetta.

Monforte d’Alba - Businesswoman and winemaker Sara Vezza, 42, has officially purchased six hectares of vineyards in Monforte d’Alba, from her mother Josetta Saffirio, who retired from winemaking in 1992. Sara has leased and managed the property for many years.

The investment is significant and is a matter of pride for the young winemaker, as it will guarantee continuity for the generations to come.

«I am joining the vineyards to the business after 20 years», recounts Sara, «it is a daunting, yet exciting choice, motivated by the deep bond and sense of respect I have for the sacrifices made by my grandfather Ernesto and my father, Roberto.

My goal for the next three years is to focus on the Alta Langa district and increase production of both white and sparkling wines».

In this video, produced by Langhe.tv in 2017, Sara recounts the history of the estate and in some way anticipates events

Two product lines: Josetta Saffirio e Sara Vezza

The wine business comprises two lines of wines, the original Josetta Saffirio line with its familiar gnomes on the labels, and the evolution Sara Vezza line, with its Aristotelian symbols. The estate also boasts a single tract of 5.5 hectares in Roddino and several hectares in the Murazzano district at 700 metres elevation. Annual production amounts to some 90,000 bottles.
